We are Lady Golfers and members of Santa Maria Golf Club in Elviria, which is situated 10 kms to the east of Marbella Spain. We are lucky enough to be able to play golf in beautiful conditions and surroundings for at least 320 days each year, with the sun shining, and the skies blue.
However, we are very conscious of the fact that every year large numbers of men visit our golf courses with organised male trips, for the purpose of playing golf, and enjoying the fabulous night life on offer in Marbella and Puerto Banus.
What happens to all the Lady Golfers? There are wonderful facilities here in the south of Spain, for you to play golf, relax in the sunshine, visit our amazing beaches, enjoy pampering sessions, good old retail therapy, or even enjoy the famous nightlife as well!!
Why should the ladies miss out?, we guess probably because we are not brave enough, or quite sure how to go about it! Therefore, here at Ladies Golf Getaways, we are offering you all the chance to enjoy these opportunities for yourselves, and we as lady golfers will take care of all your arrangements once you arrive at Spain’s Malaga Airport, which is easily serviced with budget flights from most regional airports in the U.K.
Party Size
It does not matter how large or small your party is, Ladies Golf Getaways will make all the necessary accommodation and golf bookings for you, and even if you are travelling without friends, we will arrange for you to play in competitions or general golf with other like minded ladies.
Accommodation
The accommodation that we offer is all in luxurious self catering apartments or villas situated within close proximity of Elviria, 10kms from Marbella, and are mostly adjacent to golf courses with stunning golf and or sea views. As a rule, each apartment will accommodate 4 ladies in single or twin rooms, although larger apartments will sleep 6 people comfortably, all dependent on you party size. On arrival, you will find a welcome pack in your accommodation, to provide the basic essentials for your first night, and Ladies Golf Getaways will also direct you to your nearest supermarket where you can stock up on additional supplies for your stay.
Should you prefer to stay in 3,4 or 5 star hotel accommodations, we will be happy to quote this for you.
Golf Courses
With 100 Golf Courses in Andalusia alone, the choice of where to play golf is endless, and Ladies Golf Getaways are able to negotiate discounted rates for ladies at most of these. However, we are mindful that ladies particularly on short breaks do not wish to travel too far, and therefore would recommend a wide selection of ‘lady golf friendly’ courses within a 20-km radius of Elviria. Don’t forget, we are lady golfers and know which courses best suit ladies, whether they like to take a buggy, or walk with either push trolleys, or electric trolleys, all of which can be hired locally.
Transfers
Do not worry about hiring cars, and driving on the wrong side of the road, we will take all that trouble away from you, by ‘meeting and greeting’ you at Malaga Airport, arranging transfers by taxi, minibus or coach to your accommodation, and each day of your stay, organising similar transport to take you to and from your chosen golf course.
What Else To Do?
Probably you will never have enough time to fit it all in! Here we have beautiful beaches, where you can swim, sunbathe, or take a leisurely late lunch or supper in a Spanish beach bar, where the food will be fresh, with plenty of fish, meat chicken and salads to choose from, all washed down with famous Spanish wine or Sangria! Should you fancy a pampering session, with massage or just manicure, pedicure or perhaps a hair do, we can introduce you to local beauty salons, where the staff all speak English, and the prices are good.
Over energetic? How about a run on the beach, or we can arrange temporary membership of a local gym. How many ladies do not enjoy retail therapy? We have everything here from souvenir shops, famous local markets, or for the very few of us the Designer stores, where it is even fun to just window-shop! If you choose a longer stay with us, then take time to visit our famous places, Marbella, Puerto Banus, Ronda, Gibraltar (for tax free shopping), Malaga, or further afield to Seville, Granada and Jerez de Frontera, all of which can be arranged by private hire or coach tours.
The list is endless, and we will be on hand to assist you with any of these arrangements, however, we would ask that you warn us in advance should you wish to make a ‘full day trip’ as we would not like you to be disappointed through non-availability.
Night Life
Lady Golfers fall into 2 categories, some of us like to come home after a lovely day on the golf course, have a luxurious bath and relax watching the sun set with either a cup of tea or a gin and tonic. For these ladies we can recommend good local restaurants where you can eat reasonably before having an early night, or perhaps you would like a take-away delivered, or even prepare your own meal from good fresh food and fine wines that you will be able to shop for locally.
For the Party Loving Golfers, we can recommend excellent places to eat, and then onto the amazing night life of Puerto Banus, where you are likely to bump into any of our ‘rich and famous’ visitors who my be passing through, here the night does not start until after midnight, and it could well be daylight when you are coming home, so if this is on your agenda, be sure to ask us to arrange a ‘late tee time’ the next day! Marbella Town offers good bars, and discos, if that is your preference, but you can also have a great night out in our local Spanish or English Bars.
When to Come
With 320 days sunshine every year we can expect good weather every month, our favourite months are spring and autumn, but inevitably the golf courses are busier then, and so the rates are a little higher, as they are during school holiday, but do not be put off, we can easily provide you with a quotation for whatever dates you choose.
